Leather and Herringbone
Thanksgiving is only ONE week away! This is not a drill. How have we begun the holiday season already? *faints* While I must admit that the cooler weather is taking some getting used to, I am so excited to spend quality time with mine and Sam's family in the coming weeks. In our (non-traditional) Thanksgiving recipe roundup last week, I shared our plans for the holiday which include relaxing at the beach with Oliver and gathering around the table for paella and pie.
Since we recently launched our men's style series, Sam and I decided to shoot a little inspiration for the approaching Thanksgiving celebrations. I know how difficult it can be to find an outfit that is both conservative (for the in-law's or your grandparents, ya know?), yet still makes you feel confident enough for that token Instagram shot of you holding the pie. #necessary
I found this brown leather skirt at Express (you can shop it below) and it's safe to say that I am obsessed. I truly think that it will go with so many items in my closet, even after the holidays have passed.
I also snagged the sweater I am wearing from the Express sale; I just love the tiny details on the sleeves and back. I finished my look off with my go-to, nude heels from DSW, a hand-knit scarf made by Sam's Aunt (my favvvorite), and lastly, I dressed this look up with delicate, gold accessories.
Side note: do you guys see how quickly my dark hair is fading!?! I guess I really am meant to be a blonde after all.
For Sam's holiday style, he paired his new, Lucky Brand herringbone vest with a soft, white button down, dark-colored jeans, and his Breitling Avenger II GMT. He finished off the look with a pair of casual boots. We got his vest on major sale at Nordstrom Rack and judging by how handsome he looks in it, I can tell you that this piece is going to be a Fall and Winter staple in his closet for sure.
