4-Ingredient Beauty Water
I swear you guys, I am on a collagen kick lately. After all, I am getting married like... SOON, so can you blame me? Probably not. I have been finding every excuse to add collagen into my daily routine for the sake of my skin, hair, nails, and digestion. All the way from my morning coffee to my afternoon tea, and now my water throughout the day.

Recently, Vital Proteins hooked me up with one of their new products, Strawberry Lemon Beauty Collagen. It contains 12 grams of bovine collagen peptides, organic strawberry fruit powder, coconut water powder, organic agave inulin, organic lemon juice powder, hyaluronic acid, and probiotics. Because I'm not usually a big fan of flavored water, I was a little skeptical about how much I would enjoy this product when I received it in the mail. I mean I am literally obsessed with my collagen coffee creamer, so to find something that I like even more seemed far-fetched. A few weekends back, I was rushing out the door (late as usual) and popped two quick scoops of this collagen powder into a water bottle. No joke - the whole thing was gone by the time I reached my destination. I was either extremely dehydrated or I had just proved myself wrong once again. This collagen powder surprised me because it wasn't gritty or overpowering and it dissolved within a few shakes of my water bottle. I was so excited about it when I got home that I started thinking about (1) what could make this water taste even better, (2) how I could get myself excited to drink more of it each day, and (3) what I needed to do in order to make this the easiest 5-minute process when I'm running out the door in the morning.
Adding fresh fruit and herbs to my water has always felt like such a treat. I remember back in the day when I was in high school and my little cousin and I would sit outside by her pool every day after school. We'd have a pitcher of "spa water" (cucumber, mint, and strawberries), put on our Jack Johnson playlist, and set a timer for when we needed to turn for our tan. We were very tan. Which is probably the reason why I need collagen in my life even more, but who's to say? These days my feet are swelling from standing at my desk all day, my head is pounding from the endless pit of emails I have to answer, and I'm sweating like a whore in church from my deodorant detox. But, HEY. At least I got my beauty water.
Putting fruit in your water is good for your skin, but double that and put fruit AND collagen into your water and you're basically guaranteed to turn into Beyonce over night. I mean, can you say GLOW? Plus, adding all of this flavor into my water bottle makes me drink like 10 times more water per day. Tip: refill your water when the bottle is 3/4 empty so you still have a little extra flavor at the bottom to carry into your next glass.
I can't wait for you babes to try out this simple, 4-ingredient recipe! Just grab your water bottle, a handful of strawberries, a few slices of lemon and mint leaves, and a scoop or two of beauty collagen and you're set for the day. No fancy flowers or cocktail glasses required. ;)
Ingredients:
Strawberries, sliced
Lemon, cut into small wedges
Fresh Mint
Directions:
Prepare ingredients. Add 1-2 scoop(s) of the Strawberry Lemon Beauty Collagen to 8 oz. of water. Stir to dissolve.
Add strawberries, lemon wedges, and fresh mint to water. Shake or stir to mix. Enjoy! *The longer you let the water sit with the fruit and collagen added, the more flavor it will have.
