How I Grew to 60 MILLION Impressions on Pinterest
A few years ago, if you would have asked me where the majority of my income and readership was coming from, I certainly would not have guessed Pinterest.
Similar to other content creators and influencers, I would have banked on Instagram being my breadwinner. Alas, this is simply not the case. While Instagram has settled into more of a hobby and creative outlet for me, Pinterest has become undoubtedly the number 1 platform I focus on for my business.
There are many reasons behind this, however I think the most important to point out is that Pinterest is unlike any other social platform. In fact, at this point, I wouldn’t even lump it into the same category as Instagram and Facebook. To put it briefly, Pinterest is a search engine.
Now, when you begin to shift your mindset into believing that Pinterest is a search engine, you are better able to understand, and later capitalize on, what this means for your business.
Over the past 12 months, I have grown my Pinterest Impressions from thousands to millions. Although Pinterest’s business analytics will only allow me to access as far back as July of 2019 (24.7k impressions per day), from that point to December of 2020 (2.46m impressions per day), I have increased my daily visibility by over 10,000%.
More importantly, in this year alone, the unique visitor traffic to my blog has increased by 675%, my affiliate link clicks have increased by 142%, my ad revenue has increased by 500%, and I’ve had countless opportunities for paid collaborations as these statistics have begun to speak for themselves.
Could I keep the information I’ve learned over the years for myself as I grow and monetize quietly while other creators continue to place all of their eggs in the ever-frustrating Instagram basket? Sure.
But, here’s the thing: I have always believed in community over competition and I feel confident that a win for one of us in this industry translates to a win for all of us.
Many bloggers that I have admired for years are noticeably getting burnt out by the Instagram algorithm and it’s killing their drive and creativity. These are the very same ladies who, 8 years ago, inspired me to start my own blog which quite literally changed my life.
This is not something I take lightly, so although I don’t know if I will ever consider myself an “educator” in the online marketing space, I feel that it would actually be selfish of me to keep this proven growth strategy a secret when I know that it could impact so many.
In January 2020, I set out to write an eBook entirely focused on this topic. Along the way, I unexpectedly became very sick, a global pandemic hit, we moved (again) and bought our first house, and then as I was finishing up my first rough draft of this book, I found out that I was pregnant!
Needless to say, the 2am writing sessions accompanied by 3 mugs of black coffee and fasting for 48 hours at a time to strengthen my focus came to an abrupt halt. I wanted to publish this book, but not at the expense of keeping our miracle baby healthy.
With that being said, here we are 1 year later. I was given the opportunity to experience and include the most recent Pinterest algorithm updates (and my tips and tricks on maximizing their impact), grow a healthy baby boy to 28 weeks so far, and my eBook is now published on Amazon!
Throughout the 10 Chapters in my eBook, I am diving into my specific strategy for growing on Pinterest, treating this platform as an essential part of your business plan, and how to convert impressions to sales.
I can confidently say that it is the most important $9.99 investment you will make in 2021. Forego those 2 sugary Starbucks lattes and instead of a caffeine high, you will gain the knowledge and motivation you need in order to take your business to the next level on Pinterest.
What a blessing this journey has been. I can’t wait for you to read the words that I poured my heart and soul into over the past 12 months. I feel certain that they will impact your brand and I can’t wait to see how your business transforms once you put these marketing strategies into place.
I would love to hear your feedback on my eBook; please leave a review on Amazon as it helps me tremendously to get more eyes on my book and reach a broader audience!
