Transitioning to Fall: Plaid and Chambray

Since we haven't quite made it to 70 degrees and official Fall status yet, I'm sharing today how my wardrobe and I have been gradually transitioning into Fall from the Summer months. Although I have the urge to pack up my short sleeve blouses and relaxed sun dresses and wave goodbye for the season, the weather hasn't totally agreed (that doesn't mean that I haven't had my first PSL already #notsorry).

With that being said, I can already tell you that this plaid scarf that I scooped up from Nordstrom last month is going to be one of my Fall staples. It's lightweight, versatile, and it can easily be used as a relaxed accessory with ripped jeans and sandals on a Sunday afternoon or it can help dress up a skirt and heels for a downtown date night.

I paired my plaid scarf with the softest, chambray button down from TopShop and a skirt that I've owned for over 5 years now and probably snagged for less than $20 from Forever 21 (seriously). I slipped into my favorite, nude pointed heels and finished the look with delicate gold accessories and a sultry, sheer lipstick from YSL (another Fall staple, for sure).

Jade from Jade Nikkole Photography (we've featured her work before here) was kind enough to meet me on top of Federal Hill before the sun set to overlook the city skyline. It felt very special for me because I couldn't remember a single, other time that I'd done that since I moved to the city over 4 years ago. It was packed at the top with tourists snapping pictures on their phones and locals sitting on park benches hand in hand with their significant other relaying their work day or friends venting to friends. After the sun had set, Sam and I slipped away downtown to grab pho and steamed buns (a first for me!) at a new, cool spot nearby.
