Plaid at the Apple Orchard
You guys, I gotta say that I am really on a roll this year! I've been steadily checking off my favorites from my Fall to-do list. From football games, to camping, a picnic date, and now apple picking. One of the activities that reminds me most of this beautiful season is apple picking. Visiting the orchard with my girlfriends and walking through the colorful rows is truly my idea of a perfect Sunday.
On this particular weekend, Jade, Taylor, Carissa, and I visited Larriland Farms in Woodbine, Maryland. We made our way into the orchard early in the day, picking the perfect apples, taking selfies (we are bloggers, after all), and goofing off in between the rows. If you missed my last post with these incredible boss babes where I introduced them and their blogs, feel free to jump back to it here.
Now, I must say that for once I actually surprised myself with this outfit. Because, to be entirely honest, I've never really loved plaid on me before. Gasp! I know. Plaid is the must-have Fall fashion trend year after year. But, before I found this top on sale for $23 at Nordstrom Rack, I had steered clear of the bold pattern (aside from the occasional blanket scarf).
Mostly because I couldn't find a color/fabric/design combo that was feminine enough to fit in with my personal style. When I tried on this off-the-shoulder blouse at Nordstrom Rack, I immediately fell in love. The color is deep and rich and the style is just light enough that I don't feel like a Lumberjack wearing it (#yikes). Recently, I haven't been able to help myself from finding the cutest plaid pieces, either! I am linking a ton of them at the bottom of this post for those of you who, like me, have struggled in the past with this print!
This off-the-shoulder blouse paired perfectly with my new Anthropologie corduroy pants (you'll be seeing a ton more of these), and my heeled booties from DSW that are under $80.
Also, I mentioned on Instagram a few weeks back that I have been LOVING berets this season, so it's really no surprise that I'm styling it in this Fall look. The solid white truly goes with so many of my favorite wardrobe staples. If you haven't yet, you might just want to snag one now for your apple picking adventure!
