Little White Bridal Dress
Last month, some of my favorite ladies in the world threw me a beautiful bridal shower in Downtown Annapolis. It was hosted in a private tea room at Reynolds Tavern where champagne was flowing, finger sandwiches were devoured, and I was celebrated as a bride-to-be.
When my Mom had asked me awhile back if I would be interested in a bridal shower or bachelorette party, I vetoed both thinking that the stress of planning and added cost would be too much. As over-the-top as I can be on social media and with my blog, I'm also a very simple and private person when it comes to things like this. I didn't want to have a big party centered around me with embarrassing games, and a bill mimicking our wedding day.
I told my Mom that, if anything, I'd enjoy a quiet brunch with my closest friends and family where I could relax and chat without too much pressure. It ended up being the perfect way to celebrate our upcoming wedding. Although it went by so quickly (as I imagine our wedding day will), I was able to be present and enjoy the company of the most supportive and loving women in my life. I was also showered with beautiful and meaningful gifts, guidance, and encouragement for our marriage.
For the shower, I wore this LWD (little white dress) for under $150 from Heartloom, paired with Betsy Johnson jeweled heels (they have a light blue sole which I loved), and an embellished envelope clutch from Macy's Backstage (snagged for less than $20).
With the help of Meritage Jewelers, I completed my bridal shower look with a gorgeous diamond set from their rose gold collection. The hoop earrings, stud necklace, and stackable bangles made me feel so elegant and special. Sam and I have been loving Meritage Jewelers ever since we got engaged last year, so it's really no wonder why we keep falling in love with pieces from their showroom! I wrote about our experience with picking out our wedding bands on the blog a few months back (read: My Most Meaningful Wedding Purchase Yet).
