Pretty Pink Maxi Dress
Oh my gosh, where to begin? So before we get into this pretty Summer look, let me give you babes a quick life update: Sam and I are getting married next month (!!!!) and we are currently finalizing all of the last-minute wedding details and plans. It feels like every time I pause for a second to check the calendar, we are another 10 days closer to saying "I do". As everyone warned us it would, time is definitely flying by. I'm feeling so excited to celebrate and officially become Anna Hartman after over a year of planning!
There's still a lot of work to be done in these last 2 months, but we are inching our way there, one task at a time. Last weekend, we had our first dance lesson (mainly just for fun) and the genre we chose was Latin. We danced in a room full of couples for an hour, stepped on each other's toes a lot, and enjoyed learning how to correctly do something we've been "winging" for years.
After the lesson, we came home and I went to work on our menu stationary and final budget breakdown for our wedding coordinator. It was probably the first time since the travel fiasco that I felt panic set in. Sam pulled me away from my desk after a couple hours of me frantically jotting down calculations, re-reading contracts, and taking deep, loud breaths. I put some lipstick on, my favorite pair of heels, and we spent the evening with a group of friends at R House downtown.
6 of us piled into a tiny car and we laughed over pizza, tacos, and wine for hours until they closed and it was time to go home. It was a nice reminder to step away and give wedding planning some space when it starts to feel overwhelming (a tactic that I'm sure I'll be taking with me into next month).
Also, with the help of you ladies on Instagram and Facebook, I finally found an outfit for our "welcome party" (aka rehearsal dinner) and surprise, surprise, it's blush pink. Plus, I've been stocking up my wardrobe with fun, flirty pieces to wear during our wedding week and honeymoon, so I'll be sharing a round-up and haul next week on that.
Speaking of my honeymoon wardrobe, let's get back to this pink maxi dress by Heartloom. It will 100% be packed in my bag for our travels. Not only am I just obsessed with maxi dresses in general, but this one is so feminine and light. It's perfect for throwing on after work for dinner with your girlfriends, or hanging out downtown on the weekends. The great thing about maxi dresses that guys don't realize is that very minimal effort goes into wearing one (and also they are so freaking comfy). They would definitely be my wardrobe piece of choice if I had to choose only one!
Maxi dresses, especially ones with patterns like this, need very little accessories and prep work to feel and look immediately put-together.
