What to Wear to a Galentine's Day Party
Who says Valentine’s Day has to be all about the romantic relationships in our lives? As modern women, we know that this holiday can represent so much more.
Whether you are married, dating, or single, my bet is that you have at least one, if not a handful of women in your life that you can celebrate. These women are the ones that you call after an exciting interview; the ones that you can count on to be there in the middle of the night when you’re going through a rough breakup or a season of doubt; the ones that continue to show up time and time again no matter what.
Maybe they’ve been in your life for years or maybe they are fairly new characters that you feel like you just “clicked” with from the get-go. Either way, it is important to have (and to celebrate the) women in our lives that show us love, support, and friendship on a daily basis.
Now, if you’re lucky enough to have these ladies within driving distance, I encourage you to prioritize the relationships and set aside a little time to celebrate them this month. You don’t have to plan a full-on styled party or an expensive dinner out, either. You can simply grab a box of cookies from the store and a bottle of wine to hang out on the couch and binge-watch your favorite show or romantic comedies together.
Personally, I’m a sucker for a pretty brunch, so I wanted to share my take on an impromptu Galentine’s Day celebration alongside some ideas for what to wear if you are hosting or attending one yourself!
I popped into our local HomeGoods and World Market to snag a few goodies to use in my set-up (like paper cups for homemade coconut milk lattes and a light pink throw on clearance to transform my serving table). Then, I quickly ran into our bakery for some pink macaroons and cupcakes to finish the job.
We all know that Galentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without a feminine pink outfit, so of course I had to dress the part for my impromptu brunch! I styled this gorgeous, limited-edition blush pink dress by Gallagher with a simple pair of nude pointed toe pumps and a faux fur cropped jacket for a classic, girly look.
The Madeline dress is an elegant fit and flare silhouette made with fabric that is so silky and soft it practically melts into my skin.
I prefer to let the charming details like the pleats, princess seams, and cap sleeves speak for themselves. However, if you are wanting a little extra glam, I recommend adding an embellished belt at the waist and a pair of oversized statement earrings or headband to match.
I first stumbled upon the sustainable fashion brand, Gallagher, last Spring while scrolling through Instagram. Since then, I have formed a connection with the two sisters behind the beautiful dresses. You may even remember last April when I styled their signature “Emily” dress in the color Fawn for an outdoor picnic date (blog post linked here).
The Gallagher Gals are truly a one-of-a-kind team in this typically fast-fashion industry. They are fully committed to sustainably sourcing and ethically producing every piece to last in your closet. Even better, each dress is made to order and crafted by hand locally in Virginia (my now-home state!)
I am truly honored to support this sustainable, women-owned business and collaborate on this limited-edition launch. These dresses are timeless pieces that I hope to pass down to my own daughter(s) someday.
