Three Ways to Style a Neutral Coat
One piece of clothing that you can be sure will never go out of style is a classic, neutral coat. The light, wool-blend longline style in particular can be easily dressed up or down in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. It is an ideal piece for transitioning between seasons and layering as necessary in the ever-changing weather.
Due to the points mentioned above, it should come as no surprise that when I was packing my bag for New York Fashion Week earlier in the month, this was one of the first pieces I used to build my capsule wardrobe. Between morning shopping, afternoon shows, and evening happy hours, this neutral coat was almost always on my shoulders.
Since we are heading into the final stages of Winter *crosses fingers; does Spring happy dance*, it is officially time to think about what closet essentials will be kept close during the transition, and how to style them without breaking the bank.
So, without further ado, today I am sharing three of my looks from NYFW using one classic coat as the focal point. They are simple to recreate and ideal for creating a neutral capsule collection of your own!
