Trend Report: Citrus Prints
In a surprise turn of events, it seems as if we may get the opportunity to enjoy our “normal” activities and events this Summer after all!
Of course, things will look a bit different moving forward, and it’s nearly impossible to predict the long-term effects of this pandemic on our everyday lives. However, I must say that it is nice to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Over the weekend, I was able to take a quick road trip to Maryland to spend time with Sam and both of our families for my 27th birthday.
Although most restaurants and shops were closed, we had such a lovely weekend. We spent 3 days hiking, picnicking, riding our bikes, lounging in the hammock, reminiscing on our years in the city, and supporting our favorite local businesses.
It was the first time since the beginning of February that I got to see my loved ones in person and it left me feeling so grateful.
One thing this season has taught me is to truly soak in and appreciate all of the seemingly small moments, activities, and routines we have taken for granted. Something as simple as getting dressed up to see other people put a smile on my face over the weekend.
I know that I have written a lot about getting dressed during this quarantine and how much that has helped me personally with my mood and energy on a daily basis, but I can’t stress that enough. I love a cute matching sweatsuit just as much as the next girl, but there is something about putting on a pretty romper or mini dress that immediately puts me in a better mood.
Now that I won’t be the only one seeing my outfits this Summer, I am beginning to get excited again about forecasting the newest trends. On the top of my list currently is citrus and fruit prints. This trend is light, fun, and full of bright colors that scream warm weather.
From lemons to peaches, watermelons, strawberries, and everything in between, this trend is giving me all of the youthful, easygoing Summer vibes.
Two weekends back, Sam and I had a picnic date in the middle of this beautiful wild flower field and I wore the Ace Romper in “Peaches” by Amanda Uprichard. I got the romper in an XS and I believe it is true to size.
I styled this beautiful piece with an oversized sun hat, knotted straw headband, bamboo clutch, denim jacket, and espadrilles for a casual, relaxed look.
So, without further ado, I am sharing my favorite citrus print dresses, rompers, separates, and accessories under $150 below!
